Rap/song

Write a rap/song about unit key points of the week.  It must include 10 facts in such a way that it shows understanding. Turn in a written copy of the lyrics.

Advertisement

Create a print advertisement for a key term or concept of the week.

Skit

Create a skit illustrating a key point.  The skit must be a minimum of one page in length and include stage directions for the actor(s).  The skit also needs to include a list of props. (minimum of 2)

Comic Strip

Create a comic strip that relates to a key point of the week. At least three colors are required. Black and white do not count as a color.  The comic strip must have a minimum of 3 frames.  There is no limit on the number of frames.

Article

Read an article relating to the key points of the week. The article must be a minimum of 1 page in length. Turn in a copy of the article attached to a 4-5 sentence summary of the article.

Drawing

Create a 1 page drawing depicting a key point from the unit of current of study.  The cartoon should consist of at least 5 different key points of the unit.  A short explanation of the cartoon is required.

Graphic Organizer

Create a graphic organizer for a key point of the unit. The graphic organizer should include the key point, and at least five related pieces of information.  Each piece of information should be at least 1 sentence long.

Quiz

Write a 10 question quiz, with an answer key,

Venn Diagram

Create a Venn diagram comparing and contrasting at least 2 key points.  The Venn diagram should have a minimum of 10 items in it.

Crossword Puzzle

Create a crossword puzzle for at least ten of the week’s key points.

Bumper Sticker

Create a bumper sticker about a specific topic covered during the week.

Be The Thing

Write a 2 paragraph explanation of life experience as if you were a particular object or concept in science (for example: Watson and Crick’s microscope)

Riddle Cards

Create 5 Riddle cards that relate to the key points.  The riddle must contain 2 or more clues.  The answer to the riddle should be placed on the back of the card.

Wordle

A wordle can be created and printed off on www.wordle.net and www.tagxedo.com  In the wordle you must have at least 20 key words that we have studied.  Please try to make them look neat and readable.

Power Points

     Create a powerpoint illustrating facts of the key point. Each slide should represent 5 minutes of work.

Powerpoint Presentation

Colors used do not make text difficult to read.

Words are large enough to be read from the back of the room.

Slide is in students own words and not copied and pasted in from another source.

Includes at least one graphic per every 2 slides.

Not too wordy (No slides with paragraphs on them)

Graphics do not detract from the information

AIM Chat

Students have a conversation with each other on chat.  They must print out the conversation to submit it for work.  In the conversation it must pertain to the material being discussed in class that week.  Students should cover at least 5 different topics in the chat.

Write a summary of a concept covered during the week in the form of a text message to a friend

Immersion

Wall

The Immersion wall is a 1 slide power point that is very neat, detailed and colored.  The students must Take one of the Key Words that were studied that week.  There must be a picture of the Key Point and a definition to help students define it.

Brain Chain

List 10 important concepts or topics and then create conceptual links between them in a graphic organizer.

Flash Cards

Create flashcards for 10 key terms from a unit. Each card must include a picture and complete  explanation of the term

Facebook Page

Create a Facebook page for a key concept or topic

Vocabulary Story

Write a creative fictional story using key terms and concepts from a unit.

Movie Madness

Use art and writing to recreate a scientific unit as a movie. You will design a movie poster and write a 3 paragraph movie review.

Magazine Cover

Design a one page magazine-style cover for a unit.

Paper Bag Puppet Scientist

Create a scientist puppet along with a 2 paragraph explanation of a key concept of the week and a list of statements that the scientist would say to teach the concept in a way that it is easy to understand. Draw or attach items to a paper bag to make a puppet that looks like a scientist.

Create a web page about a key concept covered during the week.
